D'Amato, Cintio (Neapolitanas), 17th century.

Prattica nuova, di tutto quello, ch'al Barbiero s'appartiene: cioe di cavar Sangue, medicar Ferite; et Balsamar corpi Humani.

Venice, B. Brigna, 1669.

"One of those rare books, describing and illustrating the barber-surgeon's job. They have mostly been used up, and hardly a good, complete copy such as ours survives. The large cuts, of a popular Venetian design, illustrate all sorts of minor operations executed by barbers. Those books are interesting documents when one remembers that the well-educated surgeons had to belong to the barber-surgeon's guild" (E.P. Goldschmidt & Co).
